A Revolution of Repentance, The Restoration of All Things

There are so many distractions right now…

Recently, there was a shooting at a church in Antioch, Tennessee in which 7 people were injured and 1 person was murdered. Instead, many Americans were focused on whether NFL players were kneeling for the National Anthem or not. Far more severe than this, the US could possibly be on the verge of war with North Korea, and yet few are really acknowledging or preparing for the fact that this is a real possibility…

If G-D is doing something really big somewhere, then the last thing the enemy wants you to see and focus on is that thing. The enemy will work overtime to keep you distracted and to pull the blinders over your eyes,

and G-D will allow it for those who choose not to be watchful.

The biggest thing which I believe people are being distracted from is what is taking place in Israel…

The Biggest Thing

Just yesterday, Tommy Waller, the Founder and President of the largest foreign volunteer organization in Israel and the only Christian volunteer organization which serves Jewish people in Judea and Samaria, HaYovel, released an earth-shaking video…

In the video, Tommy said, “My appeal is to my Christian brothers and sisters: please stop any missionary attempt to take away Jewish identity from those whom God chose to carry His name. I believe any agreement with Replacement Theology is disagreement with God, who identifies Himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob – the God of Israel.”

He continued, I believe the greatest moment of opportunity for Christianity is finally within our grasp.

What is Tommy talking about?

He said later, “… Like most Christians, I was unaware of the horrible history many Jews experienced at the hands of Christians, over the last 2,000 years. I was unaware of the tens of millions of Jews who were slaughtered, raped, pillaged, and countless other forms of inhumane persecution, by those who sadly identified themselves as Christians, both Catholic and Protestant.”

He continued, “… As a Christian, I am heartbroken to know that our church fathers, who laid and sustained the foundations of Christianity, promoted these and many more horrible acts against the Jews.”

This year, Protestant Christians will celebrate the 500th year since Martin Luther nailed his “95 Theses” on the door of the Wittenberg Castle Church, but what treatise did Luther leave the Church concerning the Jews?”

Luther argued, and I quote, “that the Jews were not the chosen people of God and their boasting about their lineage must be accounted as filth.” Luther said that “Jewish synagogues and schools should be set on fire,” “their prayer books destroyed,” “rabbis forbidden to preach,” “homes burned,” and “property and money confiscated.” “They should be shown no mercy or kindness, afforded no legal protection,” and he continued, “these poisonous envenomed worms should be drafted into forced labor or expelled for all time.” He also seems to advocate their murder, writing, “We are at fault in not slaying them.“”

It was these words from the father of Protestantism that fueled Hitler and the Nazi regimeto murder 6 million European Jews.”

Tommy continued, “… The sins both of omission and commission are on us. The blood of those who stood strong and unwavering in the promises of God are still on our hands.”

Tommy said, “… I believe this is the season, not for a new reformation,

but for

the restoration of all things.

The time when Christians all over the world will begin to recognize Israel, Jerusalem, and the Jewish people in the context of the God of Israel, who spoke through His Holy prophets.”

After quoting passages from Ezekiel 36 and Isaiah 52, Tommy closed,

I would like to say to the Jews who may be seeing this video: Please forgive me and and please forgive my forefathers for the horrible crimes they committed against you. With every fiber of my being, I am committed to supporting you in the fight for the Restoration of Israel. HaYovel is committed to purposefully raise up a new generation of Christians who firmly agree with God’s choosing and renounce the shameful teaching of Replacement Theology.

I am challenging all Christians this year to replace Replacement Theology with a new restoration mandate:

  • Begin with a deep, sorrowful repentance for the sins of omission and/or commission we have committed against the Jewish people, the Land of Israel, and the God of Israel – the sin of taking God’s Name, His promises, in vain.
  • We stand and support God’s Word, declaring and recognizing the return of the Jewish people to their covenant land, affirming God’s chosen people.
  • We stand, affirm, and support God’s choosing of the Land of Israel and its prophetic agricultural restoration.
  • We stand, affirm, and recognize a physical earthly Jerusalem as the place where God chose to place His name –  the eternal capital of Israel, and ultimately, the whole earth.”

The Times of Our Lives

I believe that we are living in one of the most exciting times in all of human history…

I recently read a book called, “Out of the Flames,” by Nancy & Lawrence Goldstone, and I learned that one of the biggest, if not the biggest, contributions to both the birth and success of the Protestant Reformation was the invention of the printing press. Once people like Martin Luther began questioning the practices and teaching of the “all-powerful” Roman Catholic Church, they were now given the ability, with the invention of the printing press, to produce great quantities of writings, quickly and affordably. This “mass” circulation of material, calling to question and challenging the “orthodox, mainstream” teachings of the day, is what led to the revolution which we now know as, “the Protestant Reformation.”

The same is happening now, in our generation…

With the invention of computers, the Internet, and now, mobile phone technologies, people today have access to any piece of information they want, at any time. The whole world is literally, “at our fingers.”

This is obviously unprecedented in human history, something which has never once before been seen on the face of planet earth.

So if the invention of the printing press and the subsequent, never-before-seen access to information gave way to the Protestant Reformation, how much more will this present “Age of Information” give way to a spiritual, religious revolution…

What I submit to you is that not only will it lead to a spiritual revolution,

the likes of which have never been seen before,

but it even has the potential to usher in the biblical

“Restoration of All Things (Acts 3:21),”

which accompanies the coming of Messiah…

The Time is Now

As Tommy Waller said in his video, this year marks the 500th year since Martin Luther nailed his “95 Theses” to the Wittenberg Castle Church. There are celebrations for the 500 year anniversary of the Protestant Reformation taking place now all over Europe. I, myself, saw one in Berlin earlier this year…

It is incredible, also, that the very day Tommy released his video marked the 150th year since Mark Twain visited Jerusalem. “In June of 1867, Mark Twain embarked on a journey to Europe and Ottoman Palestine, now Israel. Unimpressed, he described the Holy Land as “unpicturesque” and “unsightly”, even “desolate”. From September 24-25, 1867, Twain stayed at the Mediterranean Hotel, now called the Wittenberg House, in the “Old Jewish Quarter” (now the Muslim Quarter of the Old City)… Twain was Waller’s great-great-grandmother’s nephew…”1

Little did Mark Twain know that he was fulfilling what was written 3,000 years before, in Deuteronomy 29:22-23,

“so that the coming generation of your children who rise up after you, and the foreigner who comes from a far land, would say, when they see the plagues of that land and the sicknesses which the L-RD has laid on it:

‘The whole land is brimstone, salt, and burning; it is not sown, nor does it bear, nor does any grass grow there, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, which the L-RD overthrew in HIS anger and HIS wrath.’”

Tommy’s name is Thomas, which means, “twin.” His cousin’s name, Twain, means, “split in two,” like a twin.

Martin Luther nailed his “95 Theses” to the Wittenberg Church. Mark Twain stayed in the “Wittenberg House.”

Aren’t the parallels interesting?

Repentance for Replacement

I believe that Tommy’s message in this video has the ability, if it is from Heaven and with the help of G-D, to make as much of an impact, or more, as what Luther’s statements made 500 years ago. But this time, instead of merely “reforming” something that is as innately corrupt and evil as the Roman Catholic Church was, Tommy’s call is one of total restoration;

to repent and seek forgiveness for all of the crimes that have been committed against the Jewish people in the name of Christianity for the last 2,000 years, not excluding the Holocaust and up until this day.

There is a lot of work to do, and there is still so much anti-Semitic, anti-Jewish rhetoric within Christianity,

and it’s because of Replacement Theology.

Replacement Theology teaches that Christians have replaced Israel and the Jewish people when it comes to the promises and prophecies given by G-D in the Bible. Replacement Theology also teaches that Jews cannot be saved unless they “believe” in Jesus as the Messiah or accept His death on the Cross and His resurrection.

But what good is it to simply believe “Jesus” is the Messiah?

Doesn’t the New Testament tell us that even the demons believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the Living G-D?

Like it says in Matthew 8:29, “And suddenly they cried out, saying, “What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?”

As James the Just wrote, “You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble (2:19)!”

Is it any wonder to us why Martin Luther, in his preaching of justification and salvation through “faith alone,” from whom we have inherited lies (Jeremiah 16:19), deemed the Book of James not fitting for the New Testament?2

And do we think that the demons, according to the New Testament, after Jesus rose from the dead, continued professing (upon deaf ears) that Jesus was still dead in the grave?

We should be ashamed of ourselves! Such faith is futile! This type of teaching is exactly what has led to the slaughter of millions of Jews at the hands of Christians…

But what does the Master say, whom we profess to follow but whose words we hold with such utter contempt, when addressed concerning Salvation?

And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him [Jesus], saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to

inherit eternal life?”

He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?”

So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’

And He said to him, “You have answered rightly;

do this and you will live(Luke 10:25-28).”

Yeshua’s response is resoundingly clear…

The way to Salvation and to inherit eternal life is by loving the L-RD your G-D will all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and by loving your neighbor as yourself. For if we don’t do these things, even though we believe that Jesus is the Messiah, that He died on the Cross, and that He rose from the dead,

we are no better than demons,

according to the New Testament.

But what does Yeshua say in response to the question regarding inheriting eternal life?

“do this and you will live.”

Do what?

“‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.'”

Or do we think Yeshua is a liar?

And again Jesus says to you,

You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews (John 4:22).”

Why does Jesus say Salvation is of the Jews?

Because the same verses, which Jews pray 3 times every single day,

“‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself,'”

is in your Bible,

just as it is in the Jews’.

Let’s start loving again, just as Jesus taught.

In order for Christians to Love as Jesus taught, we have to first acknowledge and repent for the innumerable sins that Christians have inflicted against the Jews for 2,000 years.

Because this is Love,

to acknowledge the hurt that you have caused someone, to repent, to ask for forgiveness, and to correct your behavior,

And if we Love,

then maybe,

just maybe,

Christians will have a real opportunity for
